Get to Serbia

Airport “Nikola Tesla” is situated 18 km west of the city center. Belgrade downtown can be reached by:

Public transportation – bus line 72 that goes from the airport to the „Zeleni venac“ bus stop and А1 minibus that goes from Belgrade airport to Slavija square (via the „Fontana“ bus stop).  Tickets for bus 72 can be purchased using local sim cards (please ask the driver for an alternative). Tickets for A1 minibus must be bought from the driver (cash only) and cost 400 RSD.

The local currency is the dinar (RSD), and you can exchange euros (or US dollars, GB pounds, or Swiss francs) in one of the exchange offices at the airport or in the city center. There are also ATMs at the airport from which you can withdraw money directly in RSD.

Taxi – it takes about 30 minutes to the city centre – it hugely depends on the time of the day. Find the counter for calling the taxi in the International Arrivals zone at the airport. At this counter, an officer will call a taxi for you and issue a voucher indicating the exact amount you will be charged for the ride. Then you will pay this fee to a taxi driver. If you plan on paying by card in the taxi vehicle, please indicate this in advance so that a vehicle with this option is sent. Please be aware that it might cost more if you don’t call the taxi from the counter and choose one of the vehicles in front of the airport instead. Average taxi from the airport to city center is 3000 RSD (≈25€).
